As a Legal Specialist in the Business Banking Legal team, you will be part of the wider Consumer and Community Banking Legal Group, supporting the Firm's small business deposit and lending business. You will function within the Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co., providing legal services organized by Practice Groups that conform to the Firm's lines of business. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with specific groups on a daily basis, contributing to the Firm's success.

Job responsibilities
- Review and respond to customer service inquiries and complaints escalated within the Firm.
- Provide legal professional support to Business Banking attorneys, including preparation of draft letters to customers, internal communications, and presentations.
- Research and monitor state and federal laws and regulations for impacts to Business Banking and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Review and update forms and business procedures as a trusted partner with the business teams.
- Multitask and prioritize work in a complex business environment, maintaining communication with attorneys regarding project status.
- Partner with attorneys in Business Banking and other lines of business to support large-scale projects and initiatives.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a paralegal or legal specialist in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- A minimum of 2-year associate's degree is required.
- Detail-oriented and organized; able to handle multiple assignments and competing priorities in a complex business and legal environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with various levels at the Firm.
- Familiarity with credit, deposit account, and product documentation and/or federal laws and regulations pertaining to banks would be a plus.
- Competence with the suite of Microsoft Office products; proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and/or Adobe Pro would be a plus.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Skills in legal drafting, contract review, and/or knowledge of lending or real estate closing processes
- A 4-year undergraduate degree is preferred
