Legal Entity Controller - Associate
This is a great opportunity to join the Singapore Finance Legal entity controller team
As an Associate within the Singapore Finance Legal Entity Controller (LEC) team, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely submission of financial reporting and regulatory filings of the legal entities in Singapore. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and regulators, partnering with colleagues across APAC LEC locations and various others global functions in globally across United States, Europe and Asia. This role also offers the opportunity to analyze legal entity implications for new business developments, adapt to changes in regulatory framework, and monitor financial ratios of the legal entities.
Job responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of MAS returns, statutory and other local regulatory reporting for the Bank entity.
- Manage the month-end close process to ensure accurate and complete close of books and records under US GAAP and Local GAAP.
- Conduct analytical review on the Balance Sheet and Income Statement, and liaise with other functions (e.g. product and financial controllers, middle office) to identify business drivers for significant variances.
- Participate in working groups for projects and new initiatives impacting the entity.
- Perform impact/gap analysis on new products, accounting standards and new regulations, as and when required.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and regulators, as and when required.
- Maintain high level of internal control standards.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor's in Accountancy, Finance or professional qualification (Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CPA) or equivalent degree.
- Post-qualification accounting experience of minimum 4 years in a public accounting firm and/or in a financial institution.
- Strong knowledge on MAS returns, statutory and other local regulatory reportings.
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and US GAAP.
- Strong understanding of banking and financial products.
- Possess strong communication, stakeholder management, inter-personal and organizational skill.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet challenging deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills and able to handle complex tasks independently.
- Team player who is proactive and willing to take ownership.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Proficient user of MS suite of products (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Knowledge/experience with Axiom and Alteryx will be advantageous.
