As a Vice President within the UK Legal Entity Controllers team, you will be instrumental in maintaining oversight of the UK's legal entities. Your responsibilities will include ensuring a robust control environment across all business sectors, products, and operational areas that influence the UK's financial statements. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders in Product Control, Tax, Treasury, and various business lines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Embrace a role that offers a balanced mix of projects and business-as-usual activities, providing the right level of challenge and opportunity for growth. Develop a comprehensive understanding by Managing financial reporting deliverables and ensure completeness, timeliness, and accuracy of LE accounts (both USGAAP and IFRS)
  • Ensure integrity of month-end accruals, reconciliations, P&L attributions, GAAP adjustments, FX exposure management and escalate concerns to LEC and Senior stakeholders. Ensure accounting and reporting controls are maintained and actively work to improve them
  • Liaise with firmwide Regulatory, Product Controller, Tax and other teams to uphold the overall control framework. Manage US Regulatory reporting - preparation and oversight
  • Participate and drive on-going legal entity strategy and simplification initiatives
  • Review and confirm periodic financial and non-financial appendices for Recovery & Resolution
  • Forecast future LE revenues, expenses & earnings, summarize & present legal entity plans
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and teamwork skills, working closely with the wider team to compile succinct updates that are reflected in professional materials for various governance forums.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Ensure integrity of month-end accruals, reconciliations, P&L attributions, GAAP adjustments, FX exposure management and escalate concerns to LEC and Senior stakeholders. Ensure accounting and reporting controls are maintained and actively work to improve them

  • Ability to manage and take responsibility for own work, producing reliable, high-quality outputs to an agreed timeline. Good task management skills and ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and have attention to detail, with the written and oral presentation skills to deliver clear messages for to the stakeholders across different functions and senior management and external parties.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Qualified accountant (i.e. CA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA etc.) with at least 10 years Post Qualification Experience. Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in financial statement production and managing audits. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to prepare executive level presentations.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, with an ability to be flexible in a dynamic and challenging environment with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Knowledge of the investment banking industry, products and business lines. Any experience in EU / PRA regulatory reporting involving Basel/CRR regulations or Pillar 2 / ICAAP framework will be beneficial but not essential.Strong communication skills to lead the forums confidently with senior stakeholders from Risk, Finance and Treasury.
  • Good experience in setting up and running successful governance forums. Teamwork skills - Candidate must be flexible in work style and have the ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals.
