As a Legal Entity Control Associate in our Finance team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm. You will be responsible for financial oversight of our legal entity, and are tasked with ensuring that a strong control environment exists as it relates to all businesses, products and operational areas that impact the Legal Entity financials and regulatory reporting of the firm. You will liaise with the line of business finance teams, operations and the Legal Entity Controller community to promote the Legal Entity agenda. This role provides an opportunity to be at the forefront of financial control and regulatory reporting, working closely with various stakeholders and contributing to firmwide legal entity reporting projects.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage legal entity accounting and control on a monthly basis, including the month-end close process, FX Trade Out, parent/child accounting, equity pick-up, and review of inter-entity breaks, cash breaks, and unnatural general ledger balance monitoring.
- Conduct month-end analytical reviews of the legal entity to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements, and prepare various reports, including Legal Entity and line of business financial commentary, indirect expenses budget analysis, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve issues, and respond to ad-hoc queries.
- Assist in the Booking Model review and ongoing Legal Entity Control Standard compliance monitoring.
- Oversee Recovery & Resolution Reporting, reconciliation and substantiation of GL accounts, and LEC issue metrics reporting.
- Liaise with various stakeholders, and coordinate with internal QA review and auditors for statutory audit and internal audit.
- Participate in firmwide legal entity reporting projects, including infrastructure and process improvement efforts and other Controller initiatives as needed.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Chartered Accountant/MBA Finance with minimum 4 years of experience.
- Strong accounting and analytical acumen, with ability to understand, produce and explain income statement and balance sheet content and variances
- Superior attention to detail
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to prepare executive level presentations
- Ability to work effectively with others, as well as act as an effective liaison with all business partners within the lines of business or legal entity chains
- Strong initiative and work ethic
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, with an ability to be flexible in a dynamic and challenging environment
- Efficient Excel and PowerPoint skills required
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience preferably with financial services industry and experience of IFRS/US GAAP
- Knowledge of GL platforms used in J.P. Morgan Chase would be an advantage
