As a Lead Technical Program Manager in Commercial & Investment Bank's Athena Technology team, you will manage and operate our critical applications, ensuring they meet business requirements, are maintained and enhanced for optimal performance, and comply with organizational standards and policies. As a skilled Application Owner you will join a small, dynamic team responsible for overseeing multiple applications on the Athena platform, including the platform itself.
Job responsibilities
- Serve as the Application Owner for cross functional Athena applications, ensuring their smooth operation and maintenance. Oversee the lifecycle of applications, including planning, development, deployment, and maintenance
- Understand key areas of Athena application ownership and manage tasks/projects related to application ownership requirements from origination to delivery
- Work closely with business stakeholders, peer application owners for client businesses, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure applications meet business needs and performance expectations.
- Partner with information security managers (ISMs) to review open work items and understand the required work. Ensure the Application Record in Infrastructure Repository System(SEAL) is accurate and up-to-date.
- Ensure applications comply with security policies, data protection regulations, and industry standards. Manage Identity & Access Management, Risk and Compliance, Stability, and Resiliency.
- Oversee Risk and Controls for applications, managing updates and program management, and resolving items using tools such as FARM and AOComms. Escalate issues and roadblocks to managers and stakeholders as needed.
- Manage and oversee roll out of all Technology Lifecycle Management across teams and applications, ensuring timely updates and adherence to technology standards.
- Organize and lead monthly or biweekly stakeholder meetings to align on objectives, discuss progress, share updates, and gather feedback & asks.
- Attend and participate in the Athena CORE Infra Working Group, Athena App Owner Comms Community, and similar events for the Athena organization, and communicate updates to the Leads/Management or the wider organization.
- Develop and maintain reporting for Leads and Management (monthly and ad-hoc), providing insights into infrastructure performance, infrastructure status, infra assets accountability, incidents, postmortems, problem tasks/postmortem follow-up, etc.
- Conduct infrastructure capacity planning to ensure optimal performance and scalability of applications. Coordinate and manage SR and DR events to ensure business continuity. Maintain comprehensive documentation of application configurations, processes, and procedures.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+ years of experience in application management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of application lifecycle management and IT service management.
- Experience with performance monitoring tools and techniques.
- Basic knowledge of platform product suites: database, web server, compute host, SDLC for rapid triage of work into respective teams.
- Knowledge of compliance and security standards related to application management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships, work globally, and across topics. A client-focused and team-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals, and drive results with a high sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Ability to generate support from a wide range of stakeholders and create a strong network of relationships among peers and management. Ability to capture complex ideas and present them in a clear, concise, engaging, professional manner.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in budget management and cost optimization is a plus.
- Experience working in financial services or large global institutions is preferred.
- Certification in ITIL, PMP, or related frameworks is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing accordingly.
