As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth Management, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Develop new user-facing features using React.js and Next.js.
- Utilize extensive hands-on experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript to enhance front-end development.
- Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
- Optimize components for maximum performance across a wide range of web-capable devices and browsers.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and user experience.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies and best practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
- Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles.
- Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Redux or Flux).
- Familiarity with newer specifications of ECMAScript (ES6+).
- Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs. Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization. Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git.
- Strong understanding of UX principles and ability to create intuitive user interfaces.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product owners, designers, and platform teams.
