As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Employee Platforms - Employee Compute team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Java/J2EE, JavaScript, Angular (v18), React (Advanced state management), REST Services; 17+ in Advanced Java
- 5+ years of relational database software development experience (Oracle).
- 5+ years of experience with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation.
- 3+ years of experience in AWS Technologies: ECS, Lambda, EKS, IAM Roles/Policies, S3, Kinesis, SQS, SNS.
- Experience with Databricks, managing Databricks Asset Bundles (DABS), and implementing Delta Live Tables (DLT) workflows.
- Experience with Agile (Scrum) methodology.
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Writing high-performance, reliable, and maintainable code; preparing unit test cases and validating results.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices, including version control, testing, and code optimization
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to drill deep into issues to drive solutions.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies: Highcharts for data visualization, Bootstrap for responsive design, and UI Accessibility.
- Expertise in data processing and analysis using Spark (PySpark), Python, and SQL for handling large datasets and complex workflows.
- Proficiency with development tools: Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, Jira, etc.
- Understanding of software skills: business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as code toolset: Terraform.
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices; passionate about building an innovative culture
