As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Equities Tech Group, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

• Design and build new solutions and enhance existing code with high focus on stability and resiliency
• Develop Java services leveraging the current platform
• Understand the business functionality run by the application build with stability, efficiency, scalability, testability in mind testing.

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience.
• Should have 12+ years hands-on experience and expert on Java, Python, Kafka, Linux, TDD (Junit, Mockito), build tools (Maven/Gradle)
• Experience of working on AWS
• Experience of working on messaging software e.g. MQ etc.
• Strong OO design skills with good knowledge of object modelling and design patterns, Relational database experience; ideally Sybase/SQL
• Pro-active, delivery focus, strong experience on Agile programming
• Ability to solve complex problems and a proven track record of high performance and delivery
• Open to learn new/different technologies
• Strong communication and team-working skills

• Experience of working on GAIA and Container setup
• Experience of working in financial services, preferably in a Trade management setup
• Understanding of equity / credit derivatives trading, products etc
• Experience with NoSQL databases/ Caching technologies like GemFire
• Should aspire to learn Derivatives domain and technology
