As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Global Banking Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure AWS infrastructure using best practices.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Architect and implement solutions leveraging AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, Load Balancers, API Gateway, S3, EBS, SQS, SNS, and other storage and messaging services.
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy application code to AWS environments, ensuring smooth CI/CD processes.
- Develop automation scripts and tools using Python to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize AWS networking components, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- 8+ years of overall experience in IT, with a focus on cloud engineering.
- Expert-level proficiency in AWS services, including:
- Compute: EC2, ECS, Lambda
- Networking: Load Balancers, API Gateway
- Storage: S3, EBS, etc.
- Messaging: SQS, SNS
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- Strong knowledge and development experience with Python.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and architecture on AWS.
- AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with Data Engineering and Big Data processing technologies (e.g., Spark, AWS EMR/Glue, Athena) and streaming services.
- Experience working in a Linux environment and proficiency with Shell scripting.
- Experience deploying application code to AWS and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL Databases, Like RDS, DynamoDB, Neo4j.
