This is a hands-on role for a senior back-end engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, your responsibilities are to deliver end-to-end cutting-edge solutions in the form of cloud-native microservices architecture applications leveraging the latest technologies and the best industry practices. You are expected to be involved in the design and architecture of the solutions while also focusing on the entire SDLC lifecycle stages

We are looking for proactive, engaging technologists with a positive attitude and a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • A willingness to actively participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including but not limited to refinement of requirements, estimation and planning, platform design and implementation, test and deployment automation, and platform resiliency and support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to tailor communications for different audiences, ranging from senior business partners to junior technology colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative, agile environment within a geographically distributed team
  • Ability to work within a diverse and inclusive team where challenging each other respectfully is encouraged
  • Ability to comply with the firm's return to office policies

Minimum qualification, capabilities and skills:

  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (i.e. Java and python)
  • Experience in developing micro-services using Java and modern frameworks (Spring Boot).
  • Experience of designing and implementing RESTful APIs and web technologies (GraphQL)
  • A working knowledge of relational database systems.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline build deployment e.g. Jenkins, Harness, GitHub Actions, Spinnaker.
  • Ability to coach other team members on coding practices, design principles, and implementation patterns that lead to high-quality maintainable solutions
  • Good understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
  • Experience designing and implementing effective tests ranging from unit level tests using mocking frameworks, as well as automating component, integration and end-to-end tests
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues related to data quality and optimization, ensuring that test data meets the requirements of various testing scenarios.

Additional qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Good understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Good understanding of security frameworks / standards
  • Good understanding of data streaming and messaging frameworks (Kafka, Spark, etc.)
  • Good understanding of distributed tracing and monitoring (Zipkin, OpenTracing, Prometheus, ELK stack, Micrometer metrics, etc.)
  • Good understanding of containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.)
  • Experience with web technologies: ReactJS, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS and responsive designs.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience with AI/ML ops.
