As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth Management, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains high-quality, responsive user interfaces using React.
  • Collaborates with designers, back-end developers, business users and product managers to translate requirements into functional and visually appealing interfaces.
  • Ensures the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Writes clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Conducts code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Troubleshoots and debugs issues to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
  • Leads a team of front-end developers, setting technical direction and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Mentors and guides junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stays up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in front-end development.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Experience in front-end development with a strong focus on React.
  • Expertise in CSS and HTML, proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or Context API.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
  • Strong knowledge of modern front-end build tools (e.g., Vite, Webpack).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools and practices and version control systems, as Git.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design principles, cross-device and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with design systems and component libraries
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks and libraries (e.g., Jest, Enzyme).
  • Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Experience of handling backend API development and inclined towards becoming full stack developer
  • Knowledge of public/private cloud based applications
