As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Infrastructure Platform, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. As a lead within our Infrastructure Engineering team, you'll work with a team of highly motivated people to develop functional goals and priorities that align with technology and business strategy. You'll apply your technical knowledge and problem solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.

Job responsibilities

  • Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope
  • Drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies
  • Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
  • Executes creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
  • Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
  • Leads end to end technical infrastructure delivery processes including intake, dependency management, planning, execution, and operational release.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, stability, and resiliency
  • Leads the controlled introduction of change and ensures adherence to the firm's and businesses risk, controls, and compliance requirements
  • Manages demand intake and continuously improve backlog with team, ensuring all items are clearly described with acceptance criteria, estimated, and prioritized
  • Drive strategic discussions, root cause analysis, and help identify any product or process gaps
  • Demonstrate thought leadership with a client-centric vision to help drive solutions that are meaningful for clients

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years experience
  • Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
  • Experience in driving technical development with cross-functional knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to execute operational management, change readiness activities and continuous improvement processes
  • Experience in product or platform-wide release management, in addition to deployment processes and strategies
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization demonstrating strong partnership and collaboration skills to drive cross functional teams
  • Possess a positive team-oriented attitude and carry the culture and values of our company
  • Proven leadership skills as well as strong organizational skills to plan, organize and manage resources and tasks
  • Strong experience in analyzing opportunities and problem with solution recommendation as well as effectively communicating (both verbal and written) across teams and all levels of management
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with 7+ years of U.S. residency

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working with Agile and hybrid methodologies
  • Experience dealing with external vendors
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
  • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g. Scripting, Python, Terraform, etc.)
