Lead Credit Officer - Vice President

As a Credit Risk Vice President, in commercial banking risk team, you will play a pivotal leadership role within our GHHN Credit Risk team, overseeing a group of credit officers and credit analysts dedicated to the ongoing assessment and management of credit risk for our GHHN (Public Finance) clients. You will be responsible for driving periodic credit reviews, participating in new loan transactions, and ensuring the highest standards of underwriting and portfolio management
Job Responsibilities
- Effectively lead, mentor, and develop a team of credit officers and analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Consistently provide guidance and support in complex credit assessments and annual reviews, ensuring team members possess necessary skills and knowledge.
- Proactively oversee and participate in the evaluation of new loan transactions, ensuring thorough due diligence and robust risk analysis.
- Independently conduct credit analysis and deliver well-reasoned opinions on new and existing clients, focusing on accuracy and risk mitigation.
- Diligently monitor and manage the credit quality of the portfolio, identifying emerging risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Regularly ensure the effectiveness of credit management practices, including risk grading decisions and suitability of credit mitigation actions.
- Collaboratively engage with North America-based clients, credit officers, and directors to deliver best-in-class credit solutions.
- Strategically build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on credit risk matters.
- Actively champion a work culture that encourages innovation, challenges the status quo, and strives for continuous improvement.
- Continuously identify opportunities to enhance credit risk processes, leveraging technology and best practices for greater efficiency.
- Rigorously ensure all credit risk activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Graduate degree
- Minimum 9 years experience in credit risk analysis - (preferably GHHN or public finance experience)
- Ability to lead a team and work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills; ability to effectively present analysis and build positive relationships with global stakeholders
- In-depth understanding of GHHN financial statements, including ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, and accounting standards
- Excellent academic record, a strong grasp of public finance concepts and applications, close attention to detail, and accuracy
- Aptitude to learn and develop knowledge on credit analysis techniques, sectors and global economies
- Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
