As a Principal Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Asset Wealth Management Tech Investment Advisor Team, you, you provide expertise and engineering excellence as an integral part of an agile team to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Leverage your advanced technical capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes across various technologies to support one or more of the firm's portfolios.
Job responsibilities
- Deliver mobile and web experiences that delight customers and meet accessibility and performance targets.
- Champion security, compliance, and data-privacy controls in collaboration with risk and legal groups.
- Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design frameworks
- Operate in a hands-on style, contributing production code and guiding CI/CD enhancements.
- Advises cross-functional teams on technological matters within your domain of expertise
- Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert
- Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
- Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that are leveraged across teams and functions
- Influences leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
- Master SwiftUI/iOS mobile development through hands-on coding.
- Deep expertise in platform and distributed-system design (micro-services, event-driven patterns, cloud orchestration, observability, automated testing).
- Demonstrated success in financial services or other industries requiring AI-native development skills: experience integrating GenAI APIs/LLM frameworks, building ML pipelines, or using AI code-assist (e.g., GitHub Copilot) in daily workflow.
- Design, build, and integrate platform services (APIs, event streams, shared authentication, observability) that serve clients reliably.
- Leverage AI-native coding tools to accelerate software delivery and adhere to best practices.
- Demonstrate expertise in platform and distributed-system design, including micro-services and cloud orchestration.
- Achieve success in financial services with AI-native development skills and experience with GenAI APIs.
- Mentor and uplift engineers through pair-programming, technical talks, and architecture reviews; foster a culture of continual learning and AI adoption.
- Foster a culture of AI adoption and continual learning among engineering teams.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Java is advantageous.
- Hands-on coding mastery in responsive web applications is a plus
- Hands-on coding mastery in cloud-native systems such as AWS
- Build client-facing wealth-management or payments platforms with prior tenure at a major bank, brokerage, or fintech.
- Lead cross-functional agile teams and influence enterprise architecture and platforms.
