An exciting opportunity to join the FCA Sponsor Services team within UK Investment Banking. The team works on IPOs, capital raisings, and M&A transactions where an FCA Sponsor is required. The team also provides UK regulations and markets related advice for our significant corporate broking client base and has exposure to Corporate Broking.

Job responsibilities

  • Act as a central point of contact on FCA Sponsor transactions, leading the transaction workstreams which underpin the Sponsor role (financial, legal, accounting etc.) with other investment banking colleagues
  • Conduct deal execution, project management and supporting client coverage
  • Manage co-ordination, including with client and co-ordination of advisor teams externally and within the bank
  • Providing regulatory and UK market best practice guidance for corporate broking clients and other transactions
  • Support the internal management of the Sponsor function

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience of work required for Sponsor workstreams to support Sponsor Declarations
  • Experience of creating and reviewing records required by the FCA in relation to a Sponsor role
  • Proficient numeracy skills (to satisfy financial and accounting workstreams)
  • Ability to react well to pressure whilst multitasking on numerous projects
  • High level of attention to detail, proactivity and time management
  • Ability to comfortably interact with clients and teams in a professional manner
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity
  • Banking, legal or accounting backgrounds will be considered

UK Investment Banking

The J.P. Morgan UK Investment Banking team is responsible for corporate broking relationships and delivery of public and private M&A and capital markets transactions in the UK and EMEA Coverage sectors. This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
