As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you will develop expertise in software, applications, and technical processes related to infrastructure engineering. In this role, you will start to apply your skills and proficiency in a specific application or technical methodology.
Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully met
- Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion
- Provide build, SRE, and operational support services for leading applications and web servers across UNIX and Windows (Distributed) platforms.
- Support multiple lines of business, broadening technical skills and business knowledge.
- Enable greater automation, security, and stability within the web middleware product space.
- Collaborate with other technology towers and lines of business to ensure web products are deployed according to standards and best practices.
- Be accountable for production incidents, problem management, change management, internal and external communications, lifecycle management, and product evolution.
- Develop functional goals and priorities that align with overall strategy.
- Work with customers and global teams to deliver on projects.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Working knowledge of Apache Tomcat, IIS, WebSphere/IHS.
- Experience deploying application/web servers in a large enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Terraform, Ansible, Shell Scripting).
- Familiarity with Jenkins, BitBucket, GIT, and experience in automation, orchestration, and monitoring.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration within a global team.
- Hands-on experience in automation.
- Exposure to a range of products (Messaging/Web/DB) and platforms (UNIX, Windows).
- Ability to broaden and expand knowledge across supported businesses and technologies.
