As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector - Message Integration team, you develop knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Through this work you begin to apply your proficiency in a single application or technical methodology.
Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully met
- Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion
- Carries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parameters
- Escalates issues to appropriate leaders
- Develops considerations for upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Infrastructure engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Proficient knowledge of hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
- General knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and moderate proficiency in relevant scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, Linux automation etc.)
- Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages: Python, Java, C, C++, Go
- Experience working with two or more from the following: web application development, database, unix/linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, large scale software development, security software development
- Help with collecting data from Java applications for SLI/SLO metrics
- Understanding of Messaging and Integration area to be able to help with definition of Metrics and instrumentation of Code
- Experience with XSD, XSLT and XML design and development
- Proficient with JMS development over any message oriented middleware such as MQ, Kafka, RabbitMQ etc.
- Proficient in building Grafana dashboards and alerts looking at metrics
- Strong experience RedHat Ansible and Python development
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Good understanding of Jules CI/CD
- Knowledge of working with Kubernetes
- Understanding or have experience with Agile and Lean philosophies and Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication
- Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
