In the External Reporting team, you will handle oversight of financial statements and management reporting, ensuring a sound control environment. You will need to understand and apply relevant accounting treatments and ensure compliance with appropriate corporate and regulatory requirements. You will coordinate the preparation of quarterly regulatory filings for the Rates business and validate balance sheet usage and reporting.
Through this role you will keep up to date with latest regulatory findings and recommendations from all bodies, understand the market and market moves surrounding the business whilst having the ability to have valuable input over the implementation of industry standards and requirements as they change. The role also provides an excellent opportunity to learn and gain an in-depth understanding of Interest Rate trading strategies and risk management techniques via exposure to one of the highest ranked Rates trading desks across the industry. The Global Rates business trades a wide range of products such as Bonds, Structured Notes, CLN, Repo, Interest Rate Swaps and FX forwards across EMEA, APAC and North America.

Job Responsibilities:
- Liaise and work with various stakeholders to ensure the business is reported completely, accurately, and fairly whilst complying with industry standards and firmwide expectations.
- Adhere to proof & control procedures to ensure accurate reconciliation between regulatory filings, SEC filings and other published financial reports (e.g., Form 10-Q, Annual Report/Form 10-K, Call Report & FR Y-9C, Pillar III, etc)
- Adhere to various control procedures and edit checks to ensure the integrity of reported financial results and prepare analysis on Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reviews of the business.
- Interpret and define regulatory and/or SEC requirements and coordinate internal and external policies
- Prepare, interprets and present RWA findings to stakeholders around CIB and the business.
- Prepare, Interpret and Present Fair Value Reporting (Fair Value Measurement and Fair Value Option) on a quarterly basis to reporting stakeholders.
- Actively monitor the businesses balance sheet usage, allocation, and the comparison between the two.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to challenge efficiency and drive forward on change and innovation of processes
- Excellent communication skills with ability to understand/explain complex concepts
- Strong Time management skills with the ability to perform under pressure
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance or related areas preferred
- Further Financial Qualifications such as an ACA, CFA, CIMA, ACCA etc.
- Strong understanding of interest Rates products and affiliated balance sheet treatment
- Work Experience in an area with exposure to accounting, financial statements, and/or regulatory reporting
