The Financial Reporting Group in Edinburgh is responsible for the issuance of interim, final and other financial statements of the collective vehicles serviced by the site on behalf of UK, Channel Islands, Dutch, Luxembourg and South African based clients.

As a Financial Reporting - Senior Associate in the Financial Reporting Group team, you will lead the financial accountants within the Financial Reporting Team and you will be responsible for managing, tracking and supporting the production of top-quality financial statement and regulatory reporting services to JPMorgan clients. You will be involved in providing services that are high profile and vital to the continued development and success of JPMorgan's Edinburgh operations group.

Job responsibilities

  • Act as primary contact for the client, regulatory bodies and external auditors for the financial statements and participate in regular service reviews meetings as required
  • Control of onshore review and sign off of fund financial statements in accordance with accounting, regulatory and client requirements
  • Manage and implement any changes to service agreed with the client, according to internal policy and with regard for impacts on service level agreements
  • Ensure checklists and internal control guidance is followed during accounts production
  • Prioritize and manage the team resources efficiently to maintain established service levels and appropriate control environment
  • Ensure regular 1:1s are held with direct reports focusing professional development tracking against agreed objectives
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the overall client relationship
  • Initiate, maintain and develop effective working relationships with external and internal customers

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong communicator, able to collaborate effectively, both externally and to all levels of business
  • Track record of developing and managing teams
  • Dedicated with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage projects in a time pressured environment
  • Knowledge of regulatory standard under which financial statements are produced (e.g. IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP, Dutch GAAP, Luxembourg GAAP and South African regulations)
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and their accounting treatment (e.g. Derivatives, Equities, Bonds)
  • Knowledge of funds and audit function (e.g. OEIC, Investment Trusts, SICAV)
  • Proficient knowledge of software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
