Finance Regulatory & Accounting Lead (Legal Entity Controller) - Buenos Aires Branch

The Argentina Legal Entity Controller ("LEC") is responsible for the oversight of two legal entities: JP Morgan Chase Bank, Buenos Aires Branch and JP Morgan Services (Service Center). Responsibilities include ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the legal entity's financial statements, regulatory financial reporting, and management financial reporting. The LEC reports directly to the local Senior Financial Officer (SFO) and Senior Country Business Manager (SCBM).

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Country Business Manager in a BM type of role by conducting capital analysis, assisting in budgeting, running profitability metrics, preparing material for senior management visits, reporting country risk limits, participating in business reviews and management reports
  • Liquidity Management: Service Center's cashflow, invoice collection strategy, short-term investments, funding needs
  • Collaborate with lines of business to support new business initiatives by the assessment of local and US applicable regulation
  • Coordinate the Business Plan and ICAAP annual exercises for the Argentinean Central Bank (BCRA)
  • Monitor Financial Ratios required by BCRA such us Solvency & Liquidity and supervise the daily limit monitoring and monthly reporting to BCRA
  • Provide guidance on BCRA regulations: Capital related (Minimum Capital Requirements, Leverage Ratio, Interest Rate Risk on Banking Book, Fixed Asset, Dividend Distributions); Liquidity (Reserves Requirements); Credit (Large Exposures, Public Sector Financing Limit, Credit Policy); Other (FX Position, Capital Controls)
  • Accountable for the integrity of the local and US books and records of the legal entity. Oversight of month-end accounting closure process and presentation of Financial Statements to the Senior Country Officer and Service Center's lead
  • Point of contact for local regulators and external audit team
  • Participation in local committees (Risk, ALCO, Controls, Local Operating Committee)

Qualifications

  • Public accountant or bachelor degree in Business Administration (with accounting background).
  • Team management experience (team builder)
  • Proficiency in leveraging new technologies, such as AI, to enhance productivity and drive innovation
  • Working for Financial Institutions or External Audit Firms
  • Fluid in English
  • Knowledge on SAP is a plus
  • Knowledge of Excel, word and PowerPoint (advanced)

Skills Preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to enable effective interaction with client groups
  • Ability to function in a time sensitive role with strict deadlines
  • Product and business knowledge to support local businesses
  • Ability to understand system flows, procedures etc.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and multicultural environment
