About the Role
As an Experience Design Executive Director, you will be a dynamic leader in our team, driving the development and refinement of essential tools that empower our clients and advisors to optimize their digital experiences. Your innovative approach will be key in crafting products that add significant value and strengthen the relationship between our clients and their advisors, all while minimizing complexity in their busy lives. This role requires a hands-on approach and collaboration with a diverse team of professionals who share your passion for delivering impactful financial solutions. You will utilize user-centered design techniques to uncover unique insights that others can't, and ensuring our products truly resonate with our clients and enhance their financial experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a global user experience design team responsible for client and advisor platforms, including web and mobile apps.


  • Serve as a client-experience advocate and leader, passionate about enhancing our client's lives through simple, intelligent, and enriching products and experiences.


  • Effectively expand the team while ensuring the brand is consistently represented across every touchpoint and the design system remains harmonious and scalable.


  • Develop and maintain strong connections and buy-in with relevant cross-functional stakeholders including product and technology.


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership to advocate for user-centered design and secure support for design initiatives.


  • Achieve or exceed project metric goals.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:

  • 12+ years of experience in product design and graphic/visual development with 8+ years of direct management experience


  • BFA or BA in a related design field.


  • Online portfolio demonstrating superior product design experiences (required for application; please include any passwords if password protected).


  • Proven understanding of responsive web and mobile application design and wireframe development.


  • Expert-level ability in design software applications, specifically Figma


  • Ability to synthesize complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs.


  • Awareness and practical understanding of current technologies and their application and relevance to digital experiences.


  • Ability to influence others and provide thought leadership on design.


  • Actively listens, hears, and understands what is said and not said, with nuanced comprehension of meaning and intent.


  • Leadership: Ability to coach and mentor junior team members, guiding their development and career progression.


  • Teamwork: Develops and sustains effective and cooperative working relationships with peers, managers, and other internal or external stakeholders.


  • Flexibility/adaptability: Ability to change direction based on team and stakeholder consensus.


  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment.
