Executive Product Director Firmwide Core Deposit Platform
Come join JPMorgan Chase Consumer Banking as a Product Director and Product Agility Lead where you will be responsible for the education, adoption, and scaling of agile methodologies and be responsible for leading a team at a leading financial institution.
As a Product Director for Consumer Banking enablement, you will be a manager of a team of ~15 product managers and agility leads whose primary purpose is to deliver on a high-priority product roadmap for the Consumer Banking division of the firm. You will also have the responsibility of being named the Product Agility Lead for the Firmwide Core Deposits Platform (FCDP) in Consumer and Community Banking, and you will primarily work with product leaders, technology leaders, quad members, and development teams to enable the full Product quad to work in a more productive and efficient manger. The Product Agility Lead will evaluate the health of the portfolio and respective products to identify opportunities for improvements around scaling agile and product management, and help the leaders and teams mature their product vision, planning and delivery. As the primary coach to the product/tech leadership-level roles, agility leads/scrum masters, and teams, you will champion continuous improvement, systems thinking, and encourage an environment that fosters autonomy, mastery, & purpose. You will leverage your expertise to influence product/technology leadership and shape the operational and business trajectory of the product, all the while empowering teams to deliver in the face of evolving requirements and priorities.
Job responsibilities
- Lead a team of ~15 Agility Leads and Product Managers to deliver on a robust Consumer Banking Roadmap
- Own the Consumer Banking product enablement process from discovery to delivery for high-priority initiatives
- Lead and coach teams to adopt and implement agile methodologies, and promote open communication and engagement among team members ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals
- Use advanced communication, facilitation, and presentation skills to manage and influence stakeholders while communicating organizational impediments to leadership
- Develop and implement short to mid-term operational and transformation plans, prioritize tasks and manage resources to achieve product goals in a timely and efficient manner through the utilization of metrics and evidence-based decisions
- Identify trends and generate original ideas to contribute to the development of new policies and best practices within the discipline
- Work with product owners to align teams with the product vision, sprint activities, and other necessary information.
- Identify and address impediments to development teams , Area Product Group and Product's success.
- Embrace the concept of continuous learning in your own journey and instill the same in the teams you coach.
- Coach product owners in creation and maintenance of the product backlog, including empirical planning.
- Appreciate the depths of Lean and Agile practices and principles, help teams appreciate them.
- Teach systems thinking and servant leadership.
- Bring ideas from professional facilitation, coaching, conflict management, mediation and so on to help the team become a high-performance team.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 8+ years of product experience at scale with a focus on coaching teams and individuals on agile methodologies and project management (management experience preferred)
- Possess advanced knowledge of multiple product development lifecycle stages, methodologies, and best practices, enabling effective guidance and support for teams
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels within the organization, effectively guiding group discussions and decision-making processes within the domain context
- Excellent experience working in a scaled implementation of Scrum (LeSS, SAFe, etc.).
- Demonstrate proficiency cultivating relationships.
- Demonstrate a proficiency in coaching and mentoring development teams and their supporting roles including Area Product Owners and Area Tech partners.
- Ability to leverage skills from coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution and more to serve the team(s)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training on Agile coaching, such as recognized coaching certifications
- Demonstrate proficiency in teaching and supporting Quarterly planning activity.
- Possess an executive presence and ability to coach multiple teams across the product
- Ability to leverage capabilities across the firm to solve local problems
