EMEA Equities Prime Product Control Vice President

You will be leading a team of controllers in the Equities Prime Product control team. You will be responsible for the delivery of accurate daily and month-end P&L. This will involve interacting with a wide range of stakeholders including your senior management, front office, middle office, business management as well as across the finance organization.

As a Vice President in the EMEA Equities Prime Product Control team you will be expected to support your team and coach them through issues as they arise as well as developing them and their processes to ensure a robust and efficient control environment. You be proactive in ensuring your department is meeting the Product Control Minimum Standards and in reporting these metrics to senior management. There will be plenty of opportunities to work across a broad range of stakeholders to resolve issues, improve processes and build knowledge.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise the production, reporting and front office approval of the daily T+1 and month end P&L, ensuring it is completed in an efficient and controlled manner
  • Own and manage adjustments, ensuring appropriate comments, remediation and escalation until resolution
  • Partnering with the wider business to drive and implement robust controls and implement strategic initiatives
  • Providing detailed analysis and commentary on the financials to desk heads, business managers, and senior finance management
  • Coordinating various front & back office support functions to ensure resolution of control and reporting issues in an accurate and timely manner
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvements and ensuring processes adapt to meet changing systems and evolving requirements
  • Driving key projects and initiatives related to all the above, as well as larger cross-business programs
  • Develop individuals within the team and manage team resource
  • Create an inclusive and equitable working environment to enable the team to learn, grow and achieve goals

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Extensive work experience in Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or related area
  • Extensive experience of team management and ability to influence stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Alteryx or Python experience
  • Educated to at least Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) level

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Qualified accountant (preferred)
  • Detailed understanding of equity swaps
  • Strong Excel skills and a keen interest in process automation
  • Multiple years of people management experience and a track record of developing individuals and building a team
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and tackle issues at their root cause
