Are you passionate about using data to draw insights about the retail sector?
As an Economist on the Consumer& Business Intelligence (CBI) Team, you'll help blend quantitative economic analysis, deep retail sector knowledge, and our proprietary data assets to develop unique insights related to US consumers and small businesses. You will report to the Head of RetailIntelligence with the following responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform long-term analytical monitoring on key industry segments (such as luxury shoppers) and conduct near-term deep dives (on topics such as emerging retail trends)
- Define data metrics that need to be produced to support execution against the teams objectives, and keep us at the forefront of retail intelligence andanalytics
- Develop automated tools/trackers that continuously monitor and analyze important trends within key areas of the industry
- Collaborate with other economists and data scientists to analyze internal and external data and generateactionable insights
- Help author internal and external reports on topics/segments related to retail and various areas of heightened interest
- Provide analytical views that influence talking points in support of investor relations and external affairs with a high degree of confidence andprecision
- Present research and findings to a variety of internal/external audiences, including regularly contributing to and drafting publications in collaboration with other economists
- Embrace adaptability, flexibility, and comfort with ambiguity while utilizing creative problem-solving skills to thrive in a dynamic, new organization.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in consumer/business finance, economics, analytics, or related field
- BS/BA in relevant field. Educational background in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Data Science/Analytics preferred but all majors welcomed
- Must have a solid foundational understanding macroeconomic topics
- Candidate must be comfortable working with large data sets to undercover trends and insights
- Appreciation for precision and detail in reporting on data required
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for diverse audiences, including executives and multiple stakeholder groups
- Candidate should have strong economic intuition combined with business pragmatism
- Ability to toggle between high-level synthesis and analytical depth, with the ability to produce high-quality work on quick turnarounds with minimalerrors
- Enthusiasm and genuine interest in the retail and consumer sectors is essential
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- 2 years' experience specifically related to retail/travel/consumer industries and a strong understanding of keyindustry metrics
- Relevant graduate degree a plus (MBA, MA/MS etc.)
- Experience with Tableau and Python are strongly preferred
