As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Regulatory, Controls & Op Risk Technology (RCORT) as a part of Corporate Technology, you will lead a technical domain, managing teams, technologies, and projects across different departments. Job responsibilities

  • Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Makes decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies, to diverse and complex projects of moderate to large scope
  • Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
  • Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Expert in Agility practices, SDLC processes, CICD, application resiliency and security
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with prior experience of influencing across matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Strong analytical, logical and problem solving skills to provide solution to complex business problems

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in Public cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience of working with modern front end technologies such as React
