As a Data Scientist Lead, Vice President in our Data Science team, you will focus on quantifying and accelerating the impact of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Generative AI (GenAI) practices across the Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) sector. You will leverage your technical expertise to drive impactful data science initiatives, utilizing advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to solve complex business challenges and enhance decision-making processes. Job responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of data science models to address business needs and optimize processes.
- Quantify and accelerate the impact of SDLC and GenAI practices across CCB to drive innovation and enhance business performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for applying data science solutions to enhance product development and operational efficiency.
- Conduct data modeling experiments, evaluate against baselines, and extract key statistical insights to inform business strategies.
- Utilize large-scale data processing frameworks to extract value from structured and unstructured data.
- Prepare and deliver presentations that incorporate compelling data narratives and storytelling to summarize sharp insights and conclusions for executives and stakeholders.
- Mentor and provide oversight for junior data analysts to foster a collaborative and impactful working culture.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- At least 8 years of experience in programming languages like Python and applying data science techniques to solve business problems
- Strong understanding of statistical techniques, including data mining, data transformations, text mining, and data visualization
- Superior written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and partners from a variety of business functions.
- Ability to be proactive, results-driven, and have a proven track record of execution
- Demonstrates people management and team-building skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Master's degree preferred in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Experience in AI/ML applications and advanced analytics (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series, econometrics, causal inference, mathematical optimization, NLP).
- Familiarity with Financial Services or similar industries
- Experience building ML models in a cloud environment and with Big Data Platforms such as Hadoop
- Outstanding written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Comfort with ambiguity and proven ability to structure problems
- Team-oriented collaborator
