As a Data Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Post Trade Tech Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and deploy a suite of applications on hybrid infrastructure i.e. on-prem and public cloud, leveraging Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
- Collaborate with other team developers, business users, and other stakeholders to plan and execute application and infrastructure upgrades and releases.
- Identify and implement opportunities to eliminate or automate the remediation of recurring issues, enhancing the operational stability of software applications and build systems.
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Create secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on data engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Hands on experience in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, KAFKA, SQL, AI/ML.
- Experience with building and deploying services on AWS platform
- Hands-on experience in delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience of building object oriented and message based event driven applications for high volume and low latency applications
- Proven experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Strong knowledge in Platform engineering, DevOps, automation, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Github)
- Ability to think, work and contribute beyond defined responsibilities and ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in architecting and designing mission critical applications
- Good knowledge and hand-on experience with AI/ML technologies
- Needs to be very familiar with a UNIX environment.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases, such as Cassandra, is beneficial.
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
