Job Summary
As a Credit Monitoring Quality Control Associate I within the Wholesale Lending Services Team, you oversee the work of Credit Monitoring Analysts to ensure compliance results are accurately reviewed and recorded according to borrower credit agreement terms. You provide a secondary interpretation of financial and other covenants, confirming whether borrowers meet credit agreement terms or are in default. The role covers syndicated loans and bilateral agreements, offering insight into complex credit structures and compliance processes.
You work within the Credit Monitoring Center of Excellence, a high-volume, production-based operation supporting Commercial Banking's loan portfolio. The team is responsible for credit compliance monitoring, ensuring the integrity of our lending practices. This role provides exposure to a variety of secured lending products and the opportunity to develop expertise in credit risk assessment for real estate and corporate borrowers.
You will gain hands-on experience with complex credit agreements and contribute to maintaining high standards in credit compliance. The team collaborates closely with business partners and leadership to drive continuous improvement and uphold quality control. - Enforce quality control standards and service level agreements with internal business partners
- Review Credit Monitoring Analyst work to identify borrowers in breach of covenants or in default
- Provide clear explanations of identified issues for correction and resolution
- Interpret credit agreements and legal documents to ensure accurate system setup for covenant compliance
- Perform credit analysis, review documentation, and monitor ongoing compliance with financial covenants
- Independently calculate cash flow and leverage ratios per credit agreement terms
- Develop strong knowledge of secured lending products, including borrowing base credit facilities
- Monitor control and operational environments for changes impacting quality control
- Partner with leadership to enforce effective quality program practices
- Provide feedback to operations managers on quality performance and recommend corrective actions
- Recommend changes to improve services and systems
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Three or more years of experience in banking or financial analysis
- Experience in credit monitoring, legal documentation review, financial covenants, credit analysis, and ratio calculations
- Ability to identify and summarize key points in written reviews of credit-related transactions
- Understanding of loan products, including documentation for revolving lines of credit, term loans, and borrowing bases
- Develop expertise in assessing credit risk for real estate developers, investors, and operating companies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate good time management
- High proficiency in MS Office tools, including MS Excel
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting preferred
- Experience with syndicated loan structures and commercial banking operations
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
