Corporate Tax - Associate

A new opportunity has emerged within our Corporate Tax Compliance and Reporting team in London. This team is part of our broader tax department, which also includes Product Tax, VAT, Employment Tax, and Transfer Pricing. The role involves preparing tax returns, calculating tax accruals, managing cash tax calculations and tracking, and engaging in correspondence with HMRC. The primary focus is UK but also may involve some EMEA oversight.

As a Corporate Tax - Associate in the Corporate Income Tax team you will report to a team member who manages the UK tax compliance function.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with corporate income tax accounting across EMEA jurisdictions and entities, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Support corporate income tax compliance for UK entities, including preparing tax returns, cash tax calculations, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Tax team and other departments to provide advice and input on corporate tax matters.
  • Participate in engagements and correspondence with tax authorities, including supporting the resolution of disputes.
  • Contribute to transfer pricing activities, including documentation and analysis in line with global policies.
  • Review new business initiatives and corporate reorganisations to assess potential corporate income tax implications.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • Relevant accounting and / or tax qualification - ACA/CTA
  • UK corporate income tax experience gained in-house or with a professional services firm,
  • An understanding of key risk and governance principles applicable to corporate taxes
  • Strong communication and written skills and the ability to work well in a team
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to formulate commercially sound solutions
  • Quick learner with a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Being able to work independently, managing own workload and projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong MS Excel, Powerpoint and Work skills

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • Work experience preferably within the financial services sector
  • Desire to engage with AI related tools
