Impact Finance & Advisory invests the Firm's principal capital to advance JPMorganChase's impact objectives with a focus on four key issue areas: Careers and Skills, Financial Health & Wealth Creation, Community Development, and Business Growth & Entrepreneurship. IFA operates as a multi-asset impact investing and lending platform and its products include: low-cost loans to mission-driven financial intermediaries, such as Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs); investments as a Limited Partner in funds; and investments in early-stage, mission-driven companies.
As an Associate in the Corporate Responsibility Impact Finance & Advisory - Credit Solutions team, you will support the origination and ongoing portfolio management for loans to CDFIs, loans to funds managed by CDFIs, and LP investments in credit funds. With your experience in community development banking, commercial real estate, investment banking, or corporate banking, you will apply your financial acumen to support economic opportunity for all.

Job responsibilities
- Support transaction sourcing, evaluation and portfolio management
- Conduct extensive due diligence on new investment opportunities, primary and secondary research, and other organization-specific analysis
- Support negotiation and execution of term sheets and loan documentation, including the development of financial covenants
- Produce detailed loan and investment committee memoranda and marketing materials, and support presentations on opportunities synthesizing investment rationale, and risks and mitigants with accompanying analysis
- Proactively and independently work with senior managers to provide reporting, valuation updates, and periodic due diligence for originated transactions and a portion of the team's existing portfolio of loans
- Work with lines of business, Operations, and other Control Group functions to support booking, accounting, and transaction management
- Support impact assessments for each loan or investment opportunity, partnering with IFA's Impact Engagement lead and colleagues in Global Philanthropy
- Support ongoing team needs related to business planning, impact reporting, marketing and communications efforts
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- A demonstrated passion for affordable housing, small business, development finance, and/or impact investing
- Minimum 2 years of transaction experience in community development banking, corporate finance, investment banking, or lending
- Highly analytical mindset with the ability to analyze organizations, lending strategies, and the risk/return characteristics of loan and investment opportunities
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel & PowerPoint in particular)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organization skills
- Acts with urgency, initiative, and ownership to drive results
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of standard bank credit policies and loan administration a plus
- Knowledge of CDFIs and experience with various asset classes (e.g., affordable housing or small business) is a plus
