Control Manager - Senior Associate

Welcome to JP Morgan Chase! Are you a strategic thinker looking for your next opportunity within the controls organization of the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB)? Join our Controls Governance team as an Associate, where you will support the CIB Chief Control Manager in delivering executive controls reporting and ensuring effective oversight of the CIB BCC governance framework.

As an Associate in the Controls Governance team, you will interact with senior management across the firmwide controls organization and partner with LOB, Functional & Regional Control Managers, Risk, and Compliance. Your role involves supporting key governance tasks, implementing an effective Operational Risk framework, and providing Operational Risk advice to senior management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support effective delivery of key governance tasks, including Business Control Committees and Regulatory Interactions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the CIB to plan and prepare for meetings on behalf of the Chief Control Manager.
  • Implement an effective Operational Risk framework, acting as a subject matter expert on control governance matters.
  • Maintain a robust escalation framework and deliver appropriate messaging to senior management.
  • Assist with Controls Governance aspects of Regulatory exams and inquiries.
  • Develop and implement Operational Risk analytics to identify CIB-level risks.
  • Conduct independent reviews to ensure common control gaps are identified and managed.
  • Draft reports to alert management to emerging risks and new developments.
  • Maintain Operational Risk Standards & Procedures, identifying gaps and leading change implementation.
  • Provide Operational Risk advice to senior management.
  • Work across business and control partners to maintain effective processes.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:

  • Excellent coordination, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas simply.
  • Ability to summarize large amounts of information and synthesize key messages for a senior audience.
  • Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well across global groups in various lines of businesses and disciplines.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and effective under pressure.
  • Well-organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within established timeframes.
  • Collaborative style, flexible, and able to partner with team members across global time zones.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:

  • Experience with additional tools such as Alteryx and Tableau.
