Consumer & Community Bank, Corporate Development Digital Partnerships Associate
This role provides an exciting opportunity to support some of our most strategic relationships with large technology partners.
As an Associate on the Consumer & Community Bank Corporate Development Digital Partnerships team, you will play a key role in working across both our large tech and fintech partnerships for the bank, with a focus on payments and lending. You will work closely with senior executives externally and internally, including Chase's senior-most executive leaders to evaluate how the financial ecosystem is changing, assess the implications to Chase, and determine what partnerships will deliver value for Chase's customers. You have outstanding analytic skills and can build strong relationships, and has a passion for consumer financial services.

The Corporate Development team at JP Morgan Chase is broadly responsible for strategic partnerships across the firm's consumer lines of business - including the Consumer Bank, Business Bank, Wealth Management, Card Services, Connected Commerce, Home Lending, and Auto Lending. These partnerships are critical to the firm's ability to execute on its core strategies and meet the needs of our customers in a rapidly changing financial services ecosystem. The Digital Partnerships team specifically has three primary functions, including determining the partnership strategies for large tech platforms and fintechs, evaluating, negotiating and executing payments and lending partnerships, as well as managing ongoing relationships with large technology platforms externally and firm wide.
Job responsibilities:
- Collaboratively develop partnership strategy with the lines of business, including identifying key elements of the strategy, completing analysis, and making recommendation
- Work cross-functionally within Chase and JPMC and with external partners to identify, negotiate, and execute key partnerships that drive business results and support the business strategy
- Develop and help deliver specific partner proposals with the lines of business, including overall vision, partnership economics, and product integration
- Work in conjunction with finance, legal and other functional partners to develop financial business case, deal constructs and other key terms associated with partnership
- Monitor external environment for important competitive developments and potential partnership opportunities and communicate more broadly to key line of business partners as necessary
- Ensure all deals and business development is executed in accordance with policies, controls, key functional partners, and Corporate Development procedures
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of partnership, strategic alliance, or deal execution experience
- Experience formulating business strategy, including structuring problems, completing analysis, and making recommendations
- Project management experience in a cross-functional environment
- Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to new or ambiguous situations without significant assistance
- Deep analytical skills, including understanding of common financial statements and ability to build financial models in Excel
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate to senior internal and external stakeholders
- Sense of urgency with disposition to execute and a demonstrated career of successful partnership and/or deal execution
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

The Strategy team manages mission-critical projects ranging from developing growth strategies, to assessing and planning entry into new markets, to implementing organizational restructurings and operational efficiencies, and more. Projects are typically team-based and include close collaboration with senior executives.
