Join our team as an Auto Special Collections Specialist and make a difference by ensuring the best outcomes for our customers. This role offers the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team, adhering to all applicable regulatory and departmental practices and procedures.

As an Auto Special Collections Specialist within Auto Collections, you will be responsible for mitigating loss by contacting customers and locating vehicles to address any risk to our collateral. You will assess the level of risk associated with accounts, determine appropriate courses of action, and work closely with other internal departments to ensure smooth process flows. This role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to work in a metrics-driven call center environment. You will manage a portfolio of accounts that are 0 to 120+ days delinquent or charged off, using skip tracing and collection tools as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Mitigate loss by contacting customers and locating vehicles to address risks to collateral.
  • Contact customers and third parties to determine their intent with collateral and collect payments.
  • Assess account risk levels and determine appropriate actions.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls in a call center environment.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth process flows.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills with customers.
  • Work in a multi-tasked team environment, showing flexibility and dependability.
  • Communicate with customers in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts that are 0 to 120+ days delinquent or charged off.
  • Use skip tracing and collection tools to locate customers and determine their intent.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills for effective interaction with customers and internal teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to address customer inquiries and resolve issues.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Previous auto experience is helpful.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, consistently changing environment.
  • Basic skip tracing experience is strongly preferred.
  • 1 years of collection experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
