Chief Data Office - JPMSE Control Manager - Vice President (all genders)
This role is a chance to take over the responsibility for control management across four pillars; Risk Identification & Assessment, Control Design & Evaluation, Issues & Control Deficiencies, and Control Governance & Reporting. It is an opportunity to interact and collaborate with the Commercial and Investment Bank (CIB) Chief Data Office to identify risks relative to the Business as well as perform ongoing monitoring of the Operational Risk and Control environment across the line.
As a Control Manager within our CIB Chief Data Office team, you will be responsible for oversight and governance of the CIB Chief Data Office (CDO) control environment including: delivery of an enterprise-wide framework to manage control-related processes; development and management of the end-to-end process for identification, remediation and completion of control issues, including Control & Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE); management of protocols, governance and tracking related to supervisory and regulator engagement (e.g. ECB BCBS 239), development and maintenance of operational risk policies and monitoring of effectiveness of control implementation.
Job responsibilities
- Assess operational risks for the CIB Chief Data Office and translate into business impact, informing the broader Control Management organisation, where appropriate, on how to disposition.
- Design operational controls in partnership with the Business Executive, including determining how to measure control effectiveness (e.g., metrics), providing control implementation support and performing control validation.
- Provide control-related subject matter expertise to the CIB Chief Data Office.
- Assess the effectiveness of governance relative to programs, business processes and the direction the firm is taking .
- Lead / Coordinate end-to-end audit exams, compliance and regulatory exams in partnership with business leads.
- Manage actions and remediation of issues, for example, work with business leads on the close out Regulatory / Audit issues and supporting KEYs submissions.
- Review regulatory change, industry patterns, external events, incumbent policies & standards, etc. to proactively identify existing and emerging operational risks and issues.
- Manage projects in response to firmwide, regulatory and industry changes (e.g. European Central Bank - Basel Committee on Banking Supervisions (BCBS 239)), to uplift the current CIB Chief Data Office control environment
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Extensive financial service experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance.
- Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create, and evaluate a Risk & Control Self-Assessment in conjunction with business partners.
- Previous experience in driving strategic regulatory initiatives through to conclusion to address key control requirements.
- Strong communication skills - verbal, written and technical. Ability to present concise, direct and timely communications to regulators, executives, management and key partners; strong presentation skills is essential.
- Proficient in German and English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working and efficiently delivering in an information technology area / environment is a plus (e.g. IT Auditing, Programming Controls, Data Management and Governance etc) with strong understanding of Data and Analytics.
- Excellent influence skills for engaging stakeholders and driving organizational change.
- Competence in quantitative reporting for data governance and control reporting
