As a Business Banking Lending Attorney - Vice President, Assistant General Counsel in the Business Banking Legal team, you will be an integral member of the legal team advising on commercial lending transactions, lending products, collections, deposit account matters, and regulatory issues. You will have the opportunity to influence and implement legal strategies that support small business owners nationwide, while collaborating with various business groups and legal colleagues across the firm.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on commercial lending transactions, including negotiating and drafting loan documents.
- Advise loan closers, customer-facing bankers, and risk officers on secured lending issues.
- Negotiate and document commercial loan workouts.
- Address retail operations issues and disputes, including wire transfers, ACH, and fraud matters.
- Advise on legal issues impacting new lending products, initiatives, marketing, and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with lawyers across the legal department to support Business Banking and cross-LOB projects.
- Influence and implement legal strategies in complex situations.
- Regularly interact with Business Banking groups such as Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing, Controls, Risk, Compliance, and Product.
- Provide assistance on a wide variety of projects and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with multi-state regulatory requirements.
- Drive impactful legal solutions that support small business growth.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years' experience advising financial institutions on commercial loan transactions.
- Proven record of negotiating and drafting commercial loan documents.
- Knowledge of UCC Article 9 and real estate secured transactions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience with the Uniform Commercial Code, real estate secured lending, deposit account escalations, collections, payment systems, and wire transfer laws.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction of the position.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-profile, and rapidly evolving environment.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and delegate tasks effectively.
- Strong judgment and character.
- Familiarity with multi-state regulatory environments.
- Experience in cross-LOB collaboration and initiatives.
