Associate II - Trade Support, Middle Office
The Swap Middle Office team provides operational support for both Equities and Fixed Income swap activity, working with the business, technology and external clients to provide a positive experience.
As an Associate II within Swap Middle Office, you will join an external client facing team who are primarily responsible for providing superior client service and to ensure all operational controls are followed. You will be required to partner with our clients, as well as with our internal teams; Front Office, Product Development, Product Control, Client Service, Sales, Corporate Actions, and Technology. There will be continual opportunities to be involved with a variety of initiatives across the organization and to contribute towards a rapidly evolving environment
Job responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for external clients on all operational issues including: pre-matching, settlements, documentation, audit, technology, account set up and legal documentation, client reporting.
- Be the first point of contact for Front Office Trading and Sales on SBL trade bookings / issue resolution
- Define and execute agenda for external clients, including best practice reviews, KPIs, surveys, and STP rates
- Attend quarterly review meetings with external clients
- Coordinate with global partners in middle office and client service to help drive process improvements, system changes and improve/maintain our client relationships
- Communicate open issues to our clients and internal partners in a clear and concise manner, ensuring a full understanding of the issue
- Manage client queries, ensuring they are investigated and resolved in a timely fashion
- Manage trade life cycle; allocations, settlements, corporate actions, affirmations & regulatory reporting
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and work with the relevant partners to deliver to the business
- Apply MIS and trend analysis to identify the root cause and partner with internal teams to resolve the issue
- Work closely with external clients, settlement teams and third party institutions to settle client trades
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building strong relationships with marketers, clients, traders, and support teams.
- Self-starter with initiative, motivation, and ownership mentality; able to think outside the box.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to take ownership and responsibility.
- Ability to escalate issues appropriately to management, controls, and front office teams.
- Effective team player who can also work independently.
- Highly organized, with strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills in fast-paced environments.
- Positive "can do" attitude and ability to work well under pressure.
- Experience driving and managing global business, industry, or operations initiatives and projects.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with a focus on client perspectives and relationship management.
- Exceptional attention to detail; solid understanding of Equities, Bonds, and Swap products and their process flows; derivatives regulatory knowledge is a plus.
- Advanced PC skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, including formula construction and reconciliation solutions.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 5 years minimum experience in the industry is preferred
