The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) is a global leader in investment banking, wholesale payments, markets, and securities services, trusted by corporations, governments, and institutions in over 100 countries.
Operations Control Management (OCM) plays a crucial role in supporting CIB Operations by ensuring compliance and effective risk management across 14 APAC locations. As part of the Firm's first line of defense, OCM oversees the control environment, identifying risks and designing controls to manage material risks. The team collaborates with stakeholders such as Audit, Compliance, and Front Office to support the overall control agenda for CIB.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders, conduct pro-active process, risk and control reviews to identify potential weaknesses or gaps in the control environment and determine root cause of any control breaks identified
- Ensure that controls are robust, properly designed and operating effectively, essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
- Facilitate key governance activities such as monthly Control Forums and monitoring of adherence to the firm's standards and policies
- Identify and escalate of issues with a sense of urgency, partnering with the Business and Functions to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner
- Implement various process improvement / automation initiatives to drive enhancement of efficiency / remove redundancies
- Engage and manage stakeholders from various functions / lines of businesses (Operations, technology, compliance, business managers, finance, etc) to ensure smooth delivery of process improvement tasks assigned

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in financial services with a background in controls, audit, or compliance.
- Proven project management capabilities.
- Ability to analyze and challenge key processes.
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and macros.
- Familiarity with digital tools like Alteryx and Tableau.
- Good command of English and Cantonese.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Knowledge of the firm's Control & Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) framework and platform
