As an Agility Lead in Mainframe and Midrange Compute, you will play a significant role as a champion for the adoption and continuous improvement of Agile practices within our teams. Leveraging your deep knowledge of product development methodologies and Agile principles, use your expert guidance, mentorship, and support to teams to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance. As a recognized subject matter expert, put your knowledge to use to work on complex issues, exercise considerable judgment, and make impactful decisions that shape the operational and business direction. Your leadership, communication, and coaching skills will be instrumental in empowering teams to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently and effectively, while continuously adapting to changing requirements and priorities. As a an Agility Lead for Mainframe and Midrange in Infrastructure Platforms, you will primarily work with technology leaders, technology members, and infrastructure support teams to enable the full Mainframe and Midrange Product to work in a more productive and efficient manger. The Agility Lead will evaluate the health of the portfolio and respective features to identify opportunities for improvements around scaling agile and product management, and help the leaders and teams mature their product vision, planning and delivery. As part of the product delivery team, you will champion continuous improvement, systems thinking, and encourage an environment that fosters autonomy, mastery, & purpose alongside other scrum masters/agility coaches.

Job responsibilities

  • Join the Mainframe and Midrange Product Delivery team to manage the agile transformation across 34 infrastructure support teams to adopt and implement agile methodologies and promote open communication and engagement among and within teams ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Drive product planning through quarterly planning inputs and backlogs by ensuring that the high priority work that is being refined and effectively prioritized
  • Planning deliverables and helping the full product monitor performance.
  • Organize and lead product-wide events and pertinent efforts, including, but not limited to, Quarterly Planning, Scrum of Scrums, end of sprint Product reviews, retrospectives, end of quarter product assessments.
  • Understand and develop shared internal training and learning materials that apply the principles of agile and product to better connect end to end product goals
  • Use advanced communication, facilitation, and presentation skills to manage and influence stakeholders to plan and execute strategies in scaling
  • Enable product delivery through tools and standards, preparing quarterly demo materials, measuring agility outcomes, and coaching technical teams to assist when challenges arise
  • Drive product efficiency through managing product improvement backlog, promoting speed, efficiency, and collaboration, increase productivity and collaboration

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience or equivalent expertise in a relevant domain, with a focus on coaching teams and individuals on agile methodologies and project management
  • Agile coaching experience
  • Possess advanced knowledge of multiple product development lifecycle stages, methodologies, and best practices, enabling effective guidance and support for teams
  • Display advanced knowledge of agile delivery and multiple agile approaches, including Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming (XP), and scaling frameworks, monitoring agility metrics; with the ability to guide teams through complex projects, emphasizing iterative progress and adaptability
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels within the organization, effectively guiding group discussions and decision-making processes within the domain context

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training on Agile coaching, such as recognized coaching certifications (Kanban, Scrum Master,etc.)
  • Recommended skills include but are not limited to: agile delivery, business acumen, change management, continuous improvement, coaching, internal stakeholder management, strategic thinking, self-study, verbal communication, adaptability, and decision making
