What you will do

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading improvements in manufacturing operations by implementing new or upgraded processes that increase output, enhance product quality and ultimately reduce manufacturing costs while simultaneously maintaining or improving operator safety.

How you will do it

  • Leads engineering efforts to conceive, investigate, evaluate, and implement new equipment tooling and processes to improve safety, reliability, capacity and reduce costs.

  • Utilize systematic problem solving and data collection to Identify and resolve problems

  • Maintain and improve existing equipment by working with Maintenance, Supervision and Material Control.

Reduce breakdowns and downtime

  • Participate in Health, Safety, Environmental, Production, Material Control, Six Sigma DMAIC and R&D project teams.

  • Write weekly activity and project reports, develop action plans, and generate work instructions, test procedures and other documentation to support production operations.

  • Work in conjunction with quality assurance to support root cause analysis, scheduled audits, regulation compliance, etc.

  • Support employees in their decision to shut down unsafe or environmentally damaging equipment or processes.

  • What we look for

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree (BS) Mechanical or Industrial Engineering in a relevant field from an accredited university. Candidates with exceptional relevant work experience may be considered in Iieu of a Bachelor’s degree

    • 2+ Years Experience

    • Relevant engineering experience supporting manufacturing to improve methods and processes. Proficient knowledge of efficient troubleshooting methods.

    • Demonstrated knowledge in problem solving or project execution experience

    • Must possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

    • Proficiency with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

    Preferred

    • New product introductions/launches

    • Welding – GMAW/GTAW

    • CNC Machining and Integration

    • Metal forming and fabrication

    • Robotic automation – FANUC

    • Powder paint systems

    • Factory 4.0 / Smart Factory

    • PLC / Frequency drives – Allen-Bradley RS Logix

    • Six Sigma/Lean certification and/or experience

    • AutoCAD / Inventor

    • SAP

    • BOM/Routing Development
