The Maritime Force Engagement Control group is seeking dedicated problem solvers who are also accomplished software developers to help us tackle challenging technical problems while improving the defensive capability of our Navy's surface fleet. Join us to work in a highly collaborative and exciting environment to develop new software simulations that allow us to evaluate and refine new capabilities and algorithms at both the physics and the mission level. You will also have the opportunity to develop domain knowledge in signal processing, multi-sensor data fusion, and resource optimization while adding new technical skills to your toolset.

As a Software Engineer you will work in a team environment to provide technical contributions towards the development of:

  • High fidelity models of advanced avionics and signal processing capabilities.
  • New algorithms and capabilities to advance the state of the possible of our Navy's defensive systems against increasingly complex threats.
  • New simulation capabilities and analytical tools.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have ...

  • BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another technical major.
  • At least 1 year of progressive software development experience responsibilities with strong object-oriented software design and development skills with programming proficiency in C++.
  • Technical contributor role for a complex system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time locally as needed.
  • Hold an active Top Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You 'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have ...

  • MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another technical major.
  • At least 7 years of progressive software development experience with strong object-oriented software design and development skills with programming proficiency in C++.
  • Proficiency with software revision control systems (e.g., Atlassian, Mercurial, Subversion) and issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).
  • Significant experience developing software in a GNU/Linux environment.
  • Experience leading a team through a complete design through validation cycle.
  • Extensive knowledge and background in software development methodologies, best practices, and tools.
  • Lead a software team through a complete development cycle.
  • Real-time signal processing or software development experience.
  • Previous technical involvement with at least two Navy or DoD tactical systems.
