IT Technical Lead - Infrastructure

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Master's degree or relevant post-graduate certifications are a plus.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or senior-level role.
  • Proven experience supporting and administering Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux environments (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Experience in leading infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Experience managing hybrid environments that include on-premises infrastructure and cloud services (AWS and Azure).
  • Solid background in network fundamentals, including routing, switching, and firewall basics.

Certifications (preferred):

  • CCNA or higher (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent.
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate or equivalent.
  • CompTIA Server+, Linux+, or RHCSA certifications are a plus.

Technical Skills:

Server & OS Administration:

  • Deep understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
  • Proficient in managing Windows servers including package management, system monitoring, and security hardening.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

Cloud Technologies:

  • Experience provisioning, maintaining, and optimizing cloud infrastructure on AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda (AWS) and VMs, Azure AD, Blob Storage, Azure Monitor (Azure).

Scripting & Automation:

  • Strong experience in scripting with PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate server maintenance, monitoring, and patching.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation is a plus.

Storage & Backup:

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise storage systems, including:
    • NetApp (ONTAP administration, NFS, CIFS/SnapMirror/SnapVault).
    • HPE Alletra or similar storage solutions (e.g., 3PAR, Nimble).
  • Proficiency in managing and monitoring enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup).

Networking:

  • Solid grasp of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, and firewall policies.
  • Experience troubleshooting network connectivity, basic switch/router configuration, and Wi-Fi technologies.

Leadership & Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities; capable of guiding junior staff and coordinating with other IT teams.
  • Excellent communication skills-verbal and written-with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage incidents, change control, and root cause analysis processes.
  • Detail-oriented, self-driven, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environments.

Other Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or Datadog.
  • Experience implementing or supporting disaster recovery (DR) plans and high availability solutions.
  • Understanding of ITIL framework and best practices.
