JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for all functions necessary to process payroll through third party processing company for campus employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Audit ADP output for accuracy - reports, paychecks and taxes.
• Balance the bi-weekly 401K reports.
• Calculate the quarterly salaries for high-end bonuses and Expatriate bonuses.
• Handle historical edits in time card software.
• Import and audit the interfaces from time card software into payroll software for weekly payroll run and the interface from personnel database to payroll software for employee changes.
• Input, create, and balance pay data entry batches.
• May support other areas potentially including but not limited to payroll, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP) or any other discipline within Finance as required to meet department goals.
• Perform miscellaneous data entry, posting and filing assignments.
• Perform some advanced payroll functions.
• Prepare paychecks including computation and calculation of special checks for overtime, bonus, vacation, retroactive and termination pay.
• Prepare timely reports and communication with functional areas.
• Process all direct deposit forms and W4s.
• Process and analyze Kronos timecard reports and adjustment forms.
• Process wage garnishments, tax levies, and child support.
• Research and respond to employees inquiries on paychecks.
• Resolve routing questions and problems, and refer more complex issues to higher levels.
• Respond to employee and management questions regarding payroll.
• Review ADP audit reports and/or preview payrolls to ensure data entry is correct prior to transmitting weekly, bi-weekly payroll to ADP.
• Transmit and receive files and process reports related to payroll and time keeping systems.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations payroll customers and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to understand payroll accounting and general ledger postings.
• Moderate skill level with Excel.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to work under pressure, with constantly changing priorities and deadlines.
