Reports To: Tech Lead – Data and Reporting

Team Description:

The focus of our team is to extract insights from data and to present it in a meaningful way. Our customers are dependent on the information we provide to make critical business decisions. The team manages a portfolio of data products leveraging data API’s, Microsoft business intelligence tools, data warehousing, and data bricks. Our data products are key to the company’s future growth, and there are opportunities to learn and grow professionally.

Job Summary:

As a BI Administrator, you will collaborate with a Senior Performance Engineer to ensure that our client-facing reporting serves our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain ETL Jobs in SSIS.
  • Administration of client SSRS Subscriptions.
  • Administration of users in Active Directory.
  • Scripting Powershell for the Automation of BI Administrative tasks including Monitoring and Maintenance tasks
  • Responding to BI outages and client support tickets
  • Troubleshooting email delivery of reports

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years professional experience with SQL Server (2017) and related technologies (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS)
  • Experience managing users in Active Directory
  • Experience diagnosing issues with email servers and SMTP logs.
  • Understanding of web technologies like IIS, Nginx load balancers, Azure app gateway.
  • Experience working remotely across time zones.

30-Day Goal:

Good relationships with our internal stakeholders are critical for you to be successful. Meet with, and understand the needs of each of the following teams and roles:
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Database Administrators
  • SRE Platform hosting
  • Observability Incident Management

  • Review our documentation to identify and fill knowledge or understanding gaps.

    Demonstrate your understanding of the architecture

    60-Day Goal:

    Deliver on tasks which include:
    • Create and maintain ETL Jobs in SSIS.
    • Administration of client SSRS Subscriptions.
    • Administration of users in Active Directory.

    Demonstrate your capacity to perform the following:
    • Scripting Powershell for the Automation of BI Administrative tasks including Monitoring and Maintenance tasks.
    • Responding to BI outages and client support tickets.
    • Troubleshooting email delivery of reports.

    90-Day Goal:

    Participate as an independent individual contributor.
