Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The Sr. FP&A Analyst works closely with our China Joint Venture (JV) Finance team and Global Operations (GO) FP&A teams to drive clarity and transparency on China JV manufacturing planning and analysis cycle with the mission to drive operational efficiency. This position is heavily involved in building reliable and consistent process around close, forecast, reporting and supply/inventory monitoring in partnership with both JV Finance and GO. Additionally, this role will support China Operations & Strategy (China O&S) team on fixed cost and headcount planning and examination cycle; and assist in APAC regional commercial consolidation.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Connect with JV accounting team, Accounting system integration team and GO Finance team to create a holistic view on manufacturing financial planning and analysis process and data flow. Proactively involve related teams to identify gap and provide immediate-term and long-term solutions     
  • Drive alignment and implement process to bridge any process or information gap
  • Partner with JV to further develop and align the forecasting process and monitoring of production, COGS, margins and inventory within Global Operations
  • Proactively communicate and raise awareness of China Risk & Opportunities vs. forecast.
  • Review P&L results, know about variance drivers and draft and present close commentary at GO Finance close meetings
  • Work with China JV to further refine reporting and metrics to align with Global Operations and overall company
  • Work with China JV team to ensure accounting accuracy and ensure financial controls are consistent with total company
  • Partner with GO Finance team and Accounting team to better optimize GL account structure for scalability and growth
  • Own China O&S cost centers for fixed cost and headcount planning and close cycle.
  • Consolidate China JV total fixed cost and headcount and provide commentary to Corporate FP&A for close
  • Assist in APAC regional consolidation for commercial and fixed cost/headcount for forecast
  • Support systems implementation and testing for China for Anaplan and S4
  • Support ad-hoc request about cost savings, product line manufacturing selection projects

Qualifications

Skill / Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience in FP&A and/or Cost Accounting
  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Proven fundamental cost accounting and an expertise of business operations
  • Proven experience with implementing new processes and process improvement
  • Excellent oral and written communication with a dedicated customer orientation
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills and the ability to present, articulate and justify analyses diplomatically
  • Highly-organized with an ability to help and prioritize multiple projects concurrently
  • High curiosity and aptitude for knowledge trends, outliers, and relationships
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic, and quickly evolving environment
  • Know about interpersonal dynamics, be sensitive to the motivations of others
  • Proficiency with dashboard/report creation and data visualization tools (Tableau preferred)
  • Experience working in a multinational matrixed org is a plus
  • Manufacturing finance experience is a plus
  • Ability to speak Mandarin Chinese is a plus
