Job Description

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

The Revenue Accounting Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that we deliver the highest quality financial reporting by owning and managing the key accounting decisions linked to the acquisition of our distributor. This involves leveraging a deep understanding of ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 805 to research accounting literature and collaborate with key functional business teams to gather information on non-routine, complex revenue and lease accounting transactions. The manager is responsible for preparing detailed technical accounting memos for these transactions, including applying business combination accounting under ASC 805, performing detailed contract reviews of revenue contracts, ensuring alignment with current accounting standards, preparing adjustments and disclosures, and providing project updates and clear guidance to stakeholders and other senior leaders.

This position has responsibility for the following:

  • Own and manage the acquisition accounting related to revenue by conducting research on accounting literature and collaborating with key functional business teams to gather information on non-routine, complex revenue and lease accounting transactions.
  • Prepare detailed technical accounting memos for non-routine, complex revenue and lease transactions, ensuring alignment with current accounting standards.
  • Drive commercial contract reviews and perform other analyses to ensure accounting is in accordance with GAAP. Prepare adjustment schedules and disclosures related to the transaction.
  • Provide clear guidance and status updates to stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and design new processes and controls for new business activities.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date accounting procedural documentation.
  • Work closely with our auditors to drive conclusions on complex accounting issues. Build a strong and effective professional relationship with our external auditors to ensure effective coordination of non-routine transactions.
  • Drive other ad-hoc projects as appropriate.

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or equivalent.
  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • 7+ years of public accounting and/or relevant industry experience.
  • Public accounting experience is required (Big 4 is preferred)
  • Strong technical accounting skills in ASC 606 (multiple element arrangements).
  • Previous experience in lessor accounting (ASC 842) and business combinations (ASC 805) is a plus.
  • Superior communication and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization; inclusive of written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of departments, follow-through on commitments, and manage progress of projects effectively is critical to be effective in this role.
  • Strong leadership, analytical skills, project management, teambuilding, process management skills.
  • Ability to build and develop strong teams, along with establishing the right culture.
  • Ability to work productively in a dynamic environment and be a solutions-oriented team player
  • Experience with enterprise accounting systems, such as SAP is a plus.


This job is On-site in Sunnyvale, CA, 3 days weekly.
