Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The Senior Program Manager will report directly to the Manager Training Programs or Director, Customer Training for their region. This training professional will collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and engineering to deliver high impact training for da Vinci® surgeons from a variety of surgical specialties. The Senior Program Manager will be actively involved in the continuous improvement and development of customer training programs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies & Onboards key opinion leaders or high volume users to host courses as a Teacher KOL.
  • Provide feedback to existing Teacher KOLs on delivery, presentation, and lab execution.
  • Marketing counterparts on Teacher KOL selection, society partnership, forecasting and course planning.
  • Work with commercial strategy and drive adoption within assigned verticals.
  • Develop course agendas and obtain regulatory approval.
  • Use data in order to forecast appropriate course mixes within assigned clinical verticals.
  • Work with DVRC and Customer Training Managers to coordinate events in labs region wide in alignment with forecast.
  • Execute regional courses for specific sales regions.
  • Work with commercial team to ensure training courses are utilized effectively to support regional training strategies.
  • Partner with Enterprise Solutions Manager (US) Implementation Manager (EU) to create training plans to support Accelerated MIS Programs (AMP).
  • Create and run reports on Salesforce.com to identify trends and opportunities within assigned clinical vertical(s).
  • Attend surgical society events to build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, high-volume surgeons, and administrators.
  • Aid in development and evaluate alternate training modalities as necessary.
  • Liaise with other medical device companies to provide enhanced support and material for Intuitive Surgeon-Led courses.
  • Conduct training programs for surgical teams, residents and fellows at designated training centers and remote centers as needed.
  • Work with Customer Training team in a creative, dependable, and flexible manner to improve existing training programs.

Provide occasional support of the da Vinci® System in a hospital operating room

  • Develop competency in the following:
    • da Vinci® System Technology and Ion.
    • da Vinci® System applications.
    • OR Efficiency.
    • Training Pathway process.
    • Training/coaching techniques/methodologies.
    • Clinical competency in assigned vertical.
  • Act as a Medical Device Consultant (Medizinprodukteberater) in Austria and Germany, after appropriate training, as per legal requirement and provide guidance, insight, and support in the proper handling of Intuitive medical devices.
  • Maintaining competency and currency on technology training protocol following the onboarding program guidelines, and annual competency check
  • Travel up to 50%

Additional responsibilities

  • Work with the Training Manager to onboard and train new Program Managers and ensure a consistent approach to processes within the team.
  • Identify and scale new programs or tools that will allow further improvements to existing internal or external processes.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers internationally to ensure consistent and standardized programs globally.
  • Support the other Program Managers on the team for all complex cross-collaborative events such as, but not limited to, Summit Events.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience including 2-5 years of training/professional education experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required preferably in Clinical or Health Sciences, Healthcare Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Communications or Education.
  • Proven experience training on complex topics and/or technology.
  • High capacity and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to operate independently.
  • Professional work ethic.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles preferred.
  • Medical-device experience preferred.
