Job Description
Primary function of the position:
The job holder should have a sense of continuous improvement (CI) and combine this with a pragmatic approach. The responsibility of an Industrial Engineer (Optical Manufacturing Specialist) includes collaboration with several interface partners like R&D, Quality, Service, Logistics and Production to implement a lean value stream, a design for manufacturing, smooth material and information flow in a structured layout and as well best fixtures, tools and work instructions for the operators.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Project management and on-site support in the transfer of manufacturing processes to other locations within Europe
- Coordination & execution of trainings on the shopfloor in optical manufacturing
- Close cooperation with Manufacturing and R&D in the introduction of new manufacturing technologies
- Identify and drive implementation of projects designed to improve quality and efficiency, reduce cost, increase flexibility and capacity using lean and six sigma principles as appropriate
- Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- At least 2+ year work experience and experience in the optical industry is desirable or an advance degree
- Intermediate knowledge in lean production is desirable
- Intermediate knowledge in MS Office applications, SAP and CAD knowledge desirable
- High motivation and a proactive work attitude to take the initiative and work efficiently with others in the team
- Good analytical, problem-solving solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
- Proven success in optimizing production processes
- Travel up to 50% in project phases (transfer & ramp-up), willingness to conduct on-site training. Good intercultural communication skills to build up internal/external relationships
- Professional written and verbal communication skills in German and English, Bulgarian desirable
