Primary Function of Position
This position reports directly to the Site Continuous Improvement Manager. The OpEx engineer is responsible for facilitating the continuous improvement processes, developing mechanisms and systematizing these programs. This role includes coaching employees involved in continuous improvement projects. This position is expected to measure the success and impact of these programs on the business continuously seeking opportunities for enhancement. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive change and achieve sustainable improvements.
Essential Job Duties
- Lead the implementation and management of Continuous Improvement programs to enhance productivity and optimize business processes at the Intuitive Mexicali site.
- Oversee the successful execution of the Continuous Improvement programs.
- Facilitate and coordinate continuous improvement events.
- Effectively deliver training sessions for participants in continuous improvement programs, ensuring comprehensive understanding and engagement.
- Provide coaching on tools and methodologies that ensure the successful completion of continuous improvement projects relevant to Intuitive Mexicali.
- Conduct processes to validate continuous improvement projects, focusing on completion, control metrics, and financial impact.
- Lead the development and maintenance of the OpEx Recognition program to acknowledge outstanding contributions to operational excellence.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Continuous Improvement (OPEX) Engineer.
- Proficient in Continuous Improvement Operating Systems.
- Extensive experience in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) management, including execution and facilitation.
- Experience implementing and Enhancing 5S Programs in Manufacturing and Office environments.
- Software proficiency:
- MS Office: PowerPoint (Advanced), Excel (Advanced), Project (Intermediate).
- SAP (Intermediate),
- Minitab (Advanced),
- Agile (Intermediate).
- Preferred: At least 2 years of experience in the medical industry.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools.
- Knowledge in continuous improvement events, project management, production line balancing, and Excellent presentation skills.
- Demonstrates leadership, proactivity, organizational skills, superb planning abilities, and effective communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Language proficiency: English (Intermediate - 70%).
Required Education and Training
- Schooling: Professional Career.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with Strategy Deployment frameworks, such as Hoshin Kanri, OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), OGSM (Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures), BSC (Balanced Score Cards), or related.
- Experience with Data Analytics and reporting Tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, SAS (Statical Analysis System).
- Experience with Shainin System: Red X Problem Solving for Manufacturing and Business Processes, FACTUAL and DETAIL roadmaps respectively.
