Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The Global Ops Controllership works with Global Ops FP&A teams and business partners. They oversee financial processes and controls with responsibility. This role standardizes processes and develops an operations controls framework. Activities include supporting accounting and financial reporting, ensuring GAAP compliance. This position minimizes control deficiencies, including adjustments and documentation gaps.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly close processes for global operations. Ensure internal controls are met. Coordinate with corporate accounting and global operations FP&A partners.
  • Proactively identify and execute process improvements by leveraging best practices, standardization, and automation to scale routine activities while maximizing effectiveness
  • Build out consistent and complete documentation of all operational accounting processes, including SOPs and desktop procedures
  • Collaborate with Global Ops FP&A and corporate accounting teams to streamline operational accounting procedures and controls. Improve data quality and communication of results.
  • Proactively ensure all SOX requirements are met, and implement reporting to validate
  • Perform quarterly operational balance sheet reconciliations and reporting, ensuring appropriate support for all balance sheet accounts, including aging balance reviews
  • Partner with Global Operations and IT to ensure system implementations meet finance needs and controllership requirements.
  • Support KPI reporting and enhanced methodologies for tracking the operational execution of the control framework
  • Coordinate data and reporting required for all internal accounting reviews
  • Support Global Operations projects and key initiatives as established with Global Operations finance

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience related accounting or related field (experience in public accounting preferred)
  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Exceptional fundamental accounting, knowledge of controls processes and an understanding of business operations
  • High level of inquisitiveness, self-motivation and accountability
  • Great communication and people skills. Can work well with all levels of management and different teams.
  • Organized, detail oriented and able to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with SAP (ERP), advanced Excel skills, Snowflake and Tableau is preferred
  • Ability to examine and question data for reasonableness, proper accounting and consistency
  • Exceptional cogent and critical thinking skills
