Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

This position is responsible to provide management with key insight into financial performance highlighting areas of improvement, identify root causes and collaborate with management on corrective actions and improvement plans. This position is expected to work with Corporate Finance team to ensure management information requirements are adequately met with standard financial metrics (FP&A Package), updated performance reports and ongoing analysis (Plant’s Scoreboard).

This position will support the Controller on establishing targets, developing budgets, performing financial analysis, and ensure adherence to Regulatory compliance and Corporate Policies and Procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining Mx-Finance SOP, DOP and Work Instructions aligned to Corporate guidelines and SOX compliance.
  • Manages day to day activities related to US leading ledger, fixed assets control and financial accounting and ensures timely completion of Month End Reports Closing Process
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting, and explains variances over Budget and Forecast to local management team and corporate.
  • Supports the Controller on the preparation of annual Budget.
  • Supports the Director of Operations with metrics and internal reporting, as needed.
  • Provide ad hoc trends and standard cost analysis.
  • Global Supports with yearly cost roll-ups and updating cost standards for the whole Products Operations group.
    • Support Product Ops. Finance team on the development of DL and Overhead rates for MX-Operations.
    • Coordinate the standard costing setting activities, calendar, and deliverables, working closely with all BU controllers and all plants worldwide.
    • Oversee and monitor the Company’s Cost Accounting Policies and Processes.
    • Responsible for updates in STO list prices.
    • Responsible for Systems’ Cost of Good Sold deferral.
    • Coordinate and analyze the standard revaluation reserve balance, controls, and related activities.
    • Ensure that the Company’s accounting policies are appropriately applied to all costing-related activities and accounts.
  • Monitor and analyze key metrics to track accuracy of MX Prod Ops and to provide insight into Finance-related activities for management.
  • Responsible for accurate, timely month end close process for inventory, manufacturing expenses and variances.
  • Review and audit of BOMs, Routings, labor, and overhead rates.
  •  Review and audit of cycle counts, ABC-Inventory class, excess and obsolete procedures.
  • Help drive an efficient and effective process to ensure timely close and reporting of all cost accounting and MX FP&A-related matters by closely coordinating with the Company’s FP&A organization.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with other teams (IT, accounting, and finance, etc.) in system and process implementation projects and perform testing to validate system design is appropriate. Actively identify opportunities for process improvement or operational automation in existing system infrastructure.

Qualifications

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role like Cost Mgr. or FP&A Manager with strong standard costing background.
  • 7 + years combined in a manufacturing accounting environment and financial planning & reporting analysis (required).
  • Advanced Excel skills, SAP experience, Hyperion Planning (preferred).
  • Good presentation and communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically and influence business decisions using appropriate, fact-based financial information.
